What is Crowdbeam?
Crowdbeam is a transparent hologram pyramid that uses your phone’s screen and prepared digital media to create a floating visual illusion. It’s designed for presentations, demonstrations and visual content display.
Is Crowdbeam a real hologram?
Crowdbeam creates a holographic-style optical effect, not a free-space volumetric hologram. The floating visual is produced by the transparent pyramid reflecting a prepared image shown on your phone’s screen.
How does Crowdbeam work?

Why was Crowdbeam created?

Does Crowdbeam require glasses or a headset?
No. The floating visual can be viewed directly, without wearing glasses or a headset.
Is Crowdbeam intended to replace normal screens?
No. Crowdbeam is another way to present selected visual content when a distinctive optical presentation is useful. Traditional screens remain more appropriate for many everyday tasks.

Is Crowdbeam difficult to set up, and where should it be positioned?
No — Crowdbeam is designed around a simple prepare, position and present process with no complicated configuration. Place the pyramid on your phone’s screen on a stable surface with appropriate surrounding lighting, and swap the displayed content at any time through the app.

What type of content can Crowdbeam display?
Compatible images and videos prepared in the Crowdbeam app — including product visuals, logos, brand animations and educational material. Full supported file types will be published closer to launch.
Can I use my own images and videos?
Yes — compatible images and videos you have the rights to use can be prepared and displayed. Only use media you have permission or legal rights to use.
Can Crowdbeam display educational content?
Yes — scientific, historical, engineering or other visual material can be prepared and presented. We don’t make claims about improved learning outcomes; Crowdbeam simply presents the material differently.
What content works best?
Content with a clearly separated subject, a simple composition, good contrast and a clean background generally works better for this kind of optical presentation. Exact resolution requirements will be published once confirmed.

What does the Crowdbeam app do?

Do I need a smartphone, and will it work with mine?
Yes — the Crowdbeam app is required to prepare content and play it on your phone’s screen. Supported iPhone and Android models and OS versions will be published once compatibility testing is complete.
Is the app included with Crowdbeam?
The app is free to download by QR code, included with your order. Some features are available as an in-app purchase or subscription, which is separate from your Crowdbeam order.
Where can I download the app?
App Store and Google Play links will go live here once the app is published. There’s currently no working download link to share.

Does Crowdbeam include its own screen?
No — Crowdbeam isn’t an electronic device. It’s a transparent optical pyramid that sits on your phone’s own screen, which acts as the light source for the floating visual.
What lighting works best?
The optical effect is generally clearest with good contrast between the displayed visual and the surrounding environment — for example dim to moderate indoor lighting. Visibility in bright daylight depends on the surrounding light and hasn’t been formally tested yet.
Is the image actually floating in the air, and from what angles can it be viewed?
The visual appears to float because of the optical display structure — it’s an optical illusion, not a physical object suspended in space. It’s viewable from multiple angles around the pyramid; we don’t yet have confirmed data on the exact usable viewing range.

My visual looks weak or doesn’t appear. What should I check?
Start by checking the pyramid’s position on your phone’s screen, ambient lighting, that the optical surfaces are clean, and that your screen brightness is turned up. If the issue continues, contact Support.
My content doesn’t display correctly. What should I do?
Check that your file is a supported format and was properly prepared in the app. If it still looks wrong, contact Support for troubleshooting help.
